Luxembourg, 05/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank is to invest 25 million euro in the "Dresdner KB Private Equity per Italia" Fund. Part of a network of European regional closed-end funds, the fund will take shares in the capital of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. The aim is to mobilise 100 million euro by the end of the year.
The Dresdner KB Private Equity per Italia should then invest 5 to 10 million in companies whose turnover lies between 25 and 250 million euro, says the EIB in its press release. This fund is promoted by Dresdner Kleinwort Benson ltd of London, whose subsidiary "Private Equity" is responsible for venture-capital activities throughout the world.
This is the first operation of its type for the EIB in Italy.
