Compensation duties introduced on imports of steel products from Malaysia and Philippines

Brussels, 05/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided to implement provisional countervailing duties on stainless steel fasteners from the Philippines and Malaysia. The investigation confirmed the allegations by the European fasteners Institute (EIFI), according to which the subsidy margins sometime considerable would be the origin of a significant prejudice for Community industry (mainly made up of small to medium sized French, Italian and Spanish enterprises).
