Mr. Lamy has gone to Peking to conclude negotiations on Chinese accession to WTO, while reminding that certain European demands have yet to be answered

Brussels, 27/03/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commissioner Pascal Lamy departed, this Monday, for Peking with the intention of concluding a major bilateral agreement opening the way for China's accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO). A team of twenty civil servants lead by Hans-Freidrich Beseler Director General of Trade at the Commission is with him to finalise these technical negotiations.
