European Commission proposes strengthening measures to protect porpoises in Baltic Proper

On 27 February, the European Commission presented a delegated regulation strengthening control measures to reduce incidental catches of the resident population of the Baltic Proper harbour porpoise (Phocoena phocoena), a strictly protected species that is critically endangered, during fishing operations.
