Brussels, 08/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 8 December, the European Commission announced that it had paid out €108 million from the EU Solidarity Fund to help Poland and Austria recover from the floods in autumn 2024. Austria will receive €32 million, in addition to an advance payment of €10 million obtained in April, while Poland will receive €76 million. The European Commission has also released an advance payment of €2.3 million to Cyprus, to support the first operations after the fires in July 2025. These payments follow the approval of the legislative acts by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, on the basis of applications submitted by the three Member States (see EUROPE 13677/14).
