08/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Saturday 6 December, Qatar and the European Union announced the launch of negotiations for a Qatar-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA). “This process is a future-oriented and ambitious cooperation effort marking it an important milestone in bilateral relations”, stressed the European External Action Service and the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a joint statement. As part of the forthcoming negotiations, the EU and Doha will explore new avenues for enhanced cooperation in priority areas of common interest. The two sides also reaffirmed their shared determination to work more closely together to maintain regional peace, prosperity and security. (CG)
