08/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – Ahead of the interinstitutional negotiations (trilogue) - expected to be conclusive - on the revision of the Victims’ Rights Directive (see EUROPE 13221/17), scheduled for the afternoon of Wednesday 10 December, Agence Europe has obtained a document containing the “technical adjustments” planned for drawing up the ‘four-column’ table. While Articles 5a (reporting offences) and 22 (individual assessment of victims) remain politically sensitive, the text clarifies Article 7 on challenging a refusal of interpretation or translation, in accordance with rules laid down by national law. Article 26(2) sets out the conditions for the transmission of personal data when the victim’s consent cannot be obtained in compliance with EU legislation. In addition, Article 26b would guarantee access to digital services related to procedures, without restrictions based on the Member State of residence.
