Ireland condemned for incomplete and incorrect transposition of Water Framework Directive

20/11/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 20 November, the Court of Justice of the European Union condemned Ireland for failing to fully and correctly transpose several provisions of Directive 2000/60/EC, which provides a framework for Community policy in the area of water by notably requiring Member States to establish monitoring systems for surface water and groundwater (Case C-204/24).
