‘safe third countries’ and ‘safe countries of origin’ - Danish Presidency has given itself more time to secure an agreement on 8 December

The Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU wanted to give national delegations more time to adopt a position on the revisions to the APR (Asylum Procedures) Regulation and the concepts of ‘safe third countries’ (STC) and ‘safe countries of origin’ (SCO).

With the latest compromises dating back to 10 November, the Presidency has decided to postpone the passage of these texts through Coreper by a few days, originally scheduled for 19 November, to give itself more time. There...
