EU General Court orders European Commission to pay Greek scientist €50,000 in damages

02/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday, 1 October, the General Court of the European Union (CJEU) ordered the European Commission to pay a Greek researcher €50,000 in compensation for the damage she suffered after the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) published, in May 2020, a press release revealing her personal enrichment through fraud in the context of a research project that the EU had subsidised to the tune of €1.1 million (Case T-384/20 RENV).
