In a decision dated 4 August and published on Friday 19 September, the European Commission rejected Apple’s request for a derogation to suspend a number of interoperability measures imposed on its iOS mobile operating system in March (see EUROPE B13651A3) as part of the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
The US firm had been ordered by the EU to make several functions of its devices and operating system compatible and interoperable with connected objects from other brands.
