23/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – European Week of Sport was launched in Copenhagen on Tuesday 23 September by the Commissioner for Intergenerational Equality, Youth, Culture and Sport, Glenn Micallef, in the presence of King Frederik X of Denmark and the Minister for Culture, Jakob Engel-Schmidt. This edition, which coincides with the tenth anniversary of the event, promotes the role of physical activity in mental well-being, with the theme ‘Move more, scroll less’, which calls on citizens to reduce the time spent in front of screens and devote more to physical exercise. Since 2015, the Week and its #BeActive campaign have involved 42 countries and 103 million participants. “European Week of Sport reminds us of the power of sport to bring people and communities together. [...] Sport and physical activity can help us to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives”, said Mr Micallef. Further information on events: https://aeur.eu/f/ikq (NP)
