22/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 22 July, the European Commission launched a public consultation and a call for evidence in preparation for an action plan against cyberbullying. Open until 29 September, these initiatives are directed at [developing] a strategy to protect minors and young people up to age 29 while considering gender disparities and the greater vulnerability of certain groups. This arises from measures for a safer online environment, including guidelines in compliance with the Digital Services Act, a master plan for an age-verification solution, and a study on mental health connected to social media. The public consultation is addressed to various stakeholders: young people, teachers, NGOs, and even digital platforms. The call for evidence aims to glean existing definitions of cyberbullying, examples of national policies and legislation, and best practices. The consultations: https://aeur.eu/f/hyq (NP)
