2025 Rule of Law Report – Hungary’s deteriorating situation contrasts with positive trends elsewhere in EU

The European Commission has observed positive “tends” in many Member States as regards implementation of the 2024 recommendations on respect for the Rule of law, with “significant reforms having been undertaken in the four key areas covered by the report, namely justice, the fight against corruption, media freedom, and the institutional balance of power”.
