2040 target – MEPs to vote on urgency procedure on 9 July, after report awarded to Patriots for Europe

At midday on Wednesday 9 July, the European Parliament will vote on a request for an urgency procedure concerning Europe’s 2040 climate target. This will enable MEPs to adopt their position in time for COP30, to be held in Belém (Brazil) in November. The Council of the EU, for its part, is due to adopt its position on 18 September.
