03/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 3 June, the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) approved (by 32 votes to 6 with 2 abstentions) the extension of the road transport agreement between the EU and Ukraine until the end of 2025 (see EUROPE 13651/15). Concluded in June 2022, this agreement will facilitate the transport of goods. The new agreement requires drivers to be in possession of documents authorising international carriage and also to put a sticker on their windscreen to show that their road transport operation is covered by the agreement. It also introduces a safeguard clause allowing the agreement to be suspended in a specific geographical area if the road transport market there experiences major disturbances. The agreement will be put to a vote by Parliament as a whole at the next plenary session in June. To read the agreement: https://aeur.eu/f/h5e (AD)
