16/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 15 April, the European Commission opened a consultation on the future Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act, which will run until 9 July. The institution wants to gather input from the parties that will be directly affected by this initiative - mainly energy-intensive industries - but is also looking for input from the general public. The ‘Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act’ should help energy-intensive industries to decarbonise while remaining competitive. This should involve facilitating investment and simplifying administrative procedures, as well as creating pilot markets, as announced in the ‘Clean Industrial Deal’ (see EUROPE 13588/1).
