Creative Europe launches call for projects to support literary translation

16/10/24 (Agence Europe)On Tuesday 15 October, the European Commission’s Creative Europe programme launched a call for projects to encourage the translation, publication, distribution and promotion of European works of fiction. With a budget of €5 million, the programme will fund around forty projects. Organisations can submit their applications until 11 February 2025. Each project must have a solid editorial, distribution and promotion strategy and must propose a minimum of 5 eligible works of fiction written by authors who are nationals, residents, or recognised as part of the literary heritage of an eligible country (https://aeur.eu/f/dwy ). Projects can be small, medium or large in terms of scope, with a minimum of 5, 11 or 21 translations respectively. This initiative aims to strengthen the diversity of European literary works and their transnational circulation by supporting solid editorial and promotional strategies.
