16/10/2024 (Agence Europe) – According to the draft conclusions of the 17 October summit, the twenty-seven heads of state or government of the European Union are expected to express their deep concern about the situation in Haiti. They will call for the full deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission to support the Haitian National Police in its fight against gang violence and in restoring the rule of law under the aegis of the UN Security Council (see EUROPE 13373/5). The leaders will also advocate the imposition of new targeted sanctions against the individuals and entities responsible for the violence, with the aim of restoring peace, security, stability, democracy and the rule of law in Haiti.
