European Commission welcomes international declaration on combating antimicrobial resistance

On Thursday 26 September, the European Commission welcomed the political declaration endorsed by the United Nations General Assembly aimed at stepping up the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

At the high-level ministerial meeting held in New York, the member countries of the United Nations, including the Member States of the European Union, and the European Union committed to take concrete measures to combat AMR in all sectors (see EUROPE B13349A14).
