08/05/2024 (Agence Europe) – After another night of Russian air attacks on Ukraine – with more than 50 cruise missiles and explosive drones launched – the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, announced on Wednesday 8 May that the supply of air defence systems and the Ukraine Assistance Fund would be the priority topics for the Foreign Affairs Council in ‘Defence’ format on 28 May. “Last night, Russia launched another massive attack against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, adding to its long list of war crimes”, the High Representative protested on X. “Ukraine urgently needs adequate air defence systems. This will be the priority for FAC Defence, together w/ putting in motion the [€5 billion] UA Assistance Fund”, added Mr Borrell. (CG)
