08/05/2024 (Agence Europe) – The NGO PAN Europe sent a letter to Bernhard Url, Executive Director of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), on Wednesday 8 May, expressing its serious concerns about the risk posed by the increasing detection of PFAS (per and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in EU fruit and vegetables, and about the current limits of the assessment of these substances and their metabolite, trifluoroacetic acid.
