One year after start of war, European Committee of Regions will renew its support for Ukraine

23/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) Working Group on Ukraine and the Conference of the Presidents will meet in Gdańsk (Poland), on Friday 24 February. One year after the Russian invasion, local and regional elected representatives will discuss Ukraine’s EU accession process, good local governance in times of war, and Ukraine’s emergency and reconstruction needs in the presence of representatives of Ukrainian municipalities (see EUROPE 13073/18). In particular, the chairs of the political groups and the members of the Working Group should agree on a ten-point support plan for Ukrainian regions and cities, which would, among other things, grant them observer status in the CoR.
