23/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 23 February, the European Commission launched ‘Markets for People’, an itinerant debate series on the impact of competition policy on the lives of citizens. The debates will take place in five medium-sized European cities between April 2023 and early 2024 and will bring together experts who will discuss the economic and social implications of competitive markets as well as those of competition policy and its enforcement. The first debate will be held in Modena, Italy, on 20 April. Speakers will include Pier Luigi Bersani, a former member of the European Parliament; Michele Polo, a professor at Bocconi University; and Silvia Sciorilli Borrelli, a journalist for the Financial Times.
