13/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – The first negotiation meeting on the Social Climate Fund took place on Thursday 13 October in a “very positive” atmosphere, a source said, adding that “more progress than expected” had already been made, both on the substance of the negotiations and the working method, although the source did not want to give any details yet. A further meeting will be held in November. The first meeting was devoted to the principles governing the Fund, eligible measures and investments, budgetary aspects, including the financial mechanism and the national co-financing rule, which was abolished by the EU Council in its mandate adopted in June (see EUROPE 12982/7).
