21/12/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission opened, on Tuesday 21 December, a public consultation on better regulation in digital companies. This initiative aims, in particular, to improve transparency on EU companies by making more information available on a cross-border basis. In concrete terms, the Commission intends, among other things, to harmonise national rules and approaches to business registers, pointing out that certain information from other Member States is sometimes not accepted in national registers. Furthermore, the Commission stresses, in the wake of the first lessons drawn from the Covid-19 pandemic, the importance of reliable company data and the importance of modernising the rules of company law to adapt to digital developments. This consultation will remain open until 29 March 2022. See the consultation: https://bit.ly/3J4zH6J (TM)
