Compromise likely on main points of next year's budget, including on food facility

Brussels, 21/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - Agreement on the main points of next year's seemed close between EU Finance Ministers and the European Parliament on the evening of Friday 21 November. Discussions focused on the technical arrangements for financing the billion euro to help agriculture in developing countries and on the level of payment appropriations in the Community budget in 2009.
