Socialist group announces increased action on Mediterranean-Middle East Zone to improve dialogue and democracy

Brussels, 21/09/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 20 September, Jan Marinus Wiersma and Pasqualina Napoletano, Socialist Group deputy leaders in the European Parliament, presented their group's work programme on the Mediterranean-Middle East Region to press. The intention is to enhance cultural and religious dialogue between Europe and the Arab and Islamic peoples to encourage the countries in the region to become more democratic.
