Parliamentary Assembly criticises Committee of Ministers' failure to act over Chechnya

Strasbourg, 26/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Parliamentary Assembly is concerned that the Council of Europe is losing credibility because of its Committee of Ministers' (the executive body) failure to really react to the desperate human rights situation in one of its Member States, notes a resolution adopted on 25 January based on a report by German Social Democrat Rudolph Bindig on Chechnya.
