Parliament is set on funding policies seen as priorities for EU - agreement with Council on agencies later on

Strasbourg, 27/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - During the debate on the draft budget for 2005, MEPs confirmed on Tuesday that they would oppose significant reductions of funding decided on in July by the Council. The European Parliament will therefore have to decide on Thursday, during the first reading of the draft budget to considerably increase (from EUR 6.2 bn) payment appropriations to fund all EU programmes it thinks necessary.
