12.5 million EUR for victims of drought in Horn of Africa

Brussels, 27/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has just granted 12.5 million EUR in humanitarian aid to the victims of the drought and related diseases in the Horn of Africa- Eritrea (1 million EUR), Ethiopia (6.5 million ), Kenya (3.85 million ), and Somalia (1.15 million ). The activities paid for will include emergency medical care for Somalia and Ethiopia and emergency assistance to combat the situation of drought in Eritrea, Ethiopia and Kenya.
