Italy is instructed to authorise foreign guides to work at major tourist sites such as Venice, Rome and Florence

Brussels, 27/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has sent a reasoned opinion to Italy calling on it not to discriminate against tourist guides who are not of Italian nationality. According to Community rules, Member States may designate certain tourist sites where only guides trained or official in that country can work.
