27/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - Leyla Zana, the Sakharov Prize-winner of the European Parliament, and three other former Kurdish MPs announced last week that they were to set up a new party, which will attempt to support the process of Turkey becoming closer to Europe, and to obtain a peaceful resolution of the Kurdish question (see EUROPE of 15 October, p.6, on Leyla Zana's speech at the recent plenary session of the Parliament in Brussels).
