Spain must not flout shark finning rules

Brussels, 11/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Liberal Group at the European Parliament considers that Spain flouts Community rules on shark fishing, according to a press release on Friday. Under EU regulations adopted by the Council in June 2003 to tackle shark finning on board fishing vessels or the off-loading of shark fins, the Member States must present an annual report to the European Commission by 1 May at the latest on implementation of these provisions during the previous year.
