11/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday, the Transport Council adopted, without debate, its common position on the proposal for a directive aimed at imposing penalties for criminal acts on those responsible for serious pollution at sea. The Council had reached a political agreement on this point on 11 June (EUROPE of 12 June). The common position will at present be forwarded to the European Parliament for second reading.
