Restrictions and embargo on arms exports lifted - EU's technical missoin on illegal immigration

Luxembourg, 11/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Council of the EU decided on Monday to lift the "restrictive measures" of 1992 and 1993 against Libya and the embargo on exports of weapons to the country. Sales of arms will, however, be subject to provisions of the EU Code of Conduct on Arms Exports. Furthermore, a special post-embargo arms transfer regime will be applied, which the Council is currently developing. The Council also announced that the EU would send a technical mission to the...
