GENERAL NEWS / (eu) eu/competition

11/10/2004 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has authorised the joint acquisition of the international activities of Edison Mission Energy (EME) by the British energy company International Power and the Japanese company Mitsubishi. The two groups will buy out the whole of EME's share in the Dutch company MEC International. This transaction was examined according to simplified procedure.
