Germany must amend its legislation on limited liability companies

Brussels, 19.07.2004 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has sent a reasoned opinion to Germany calling on it to amend national rules which discriminate against companies from other Member States which enter into agreements where they acquire rights to the transfer of profits or of control from companies based in Germany.

According to the Commission, this is discrimination running counter to the freedom of establishment. Germany had already announced its intention to amend the law.
