Brussels, 19/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 18 July the Dutch presidency of the European Union made the following declaration following the legal proceedings on the death of Ms Kazemi:
"The president of the European Union expresses its concern that the proceedings in the case against the person accused of causing the death in custody of the Canadian/Iranian journalist Mrs Kazemi in July 2003 were concluded in a very short time and in a way that does not do justice to the severity of the case...
