Council of Europe joins EU in calling for end to capital punishment for minors in USA

Brussels, 19/07/2004 (Agence Europe) - Totally opposed to the death penalty, the Council of Europe submitted a memorandum to stop the execution of a young 18 year in Missouri (USA), Christopher Simmons, condemned to death for crimes he committed when he was a minor. The Supreme court of the USA is currently studying the affair to see whether or not the USA can still execute offenders under the age of 18.
