Brussels, 09/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, Europol and Eurojust signed a cooperation agreement in The Hague. The agreement will provide a frame for the exchange of operational, strategic and technical information and for the coordination of activities between the European Police Office and its judiciary arm. It allows regular consultation between the two bodies which could cooperate in concrete terms with data transmission (on a case by case basis including personal data, with the possibility of imposing restrictions on the use of such data), participation in their working meetings and even, at the request of a Member State, participation in joint investigation teams. The agreement was negotiated with Europol and Eurojust. The Justice and Home Affairs Council of 29 April gave its go-ahead.
