Electoral system: proportional representation in a single constituency

Dimocraticos synagermos (DISY): the Cypriot party affiliated to the PEP is presenting a list headed by the former minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kassoulides. Also on the list: MP and outgoing MEP Panayiotis Demetriou (65) - serving parliamentarian Lefteris Christoforou; - MP Eleni Theocharous; - party spokesperson Tasos Mitsopoulos.

Enie dimokratiki enosis Kyprou (EDEK): on the list of the socialists: - the former minister of transport Marios Eliades who is also a former president of Cypriot broadcasting; - former president of the lawyers' association Xenios Xenopoulos; - Mayor of Paphos, Fidias Sarikas; - Mayor of Lefkara, near Larnaka, Sofoclis Sofocleous; - the lawyer Katerina Flourentzou-Melissinou, president of the Cypriot community in Thessaloniki in Greece.

Dimokratiko Komma (DIKO) Liberal candidates include: the former president of the Chamber of Representatives, Alexis Galanos; - the journalist Dimitris Andreou; - parliamentarian Antigoni Papadopoulou (50), who was also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe; - parliamentarian Marios Matsakis (50), doctor, known for his position against British military bases; - journalist Themis Themistocleous.

Anorthotiko komma ergazomenou laou (AKEL): the Left list brings together less well-known personalities. Notably Adamos Adamou and Despina Bebedeli-Kavkaridou.

Alarm for Europe: consists of individuals expelled from the DISY for their opposition to the Cypriot reunification plan. On this list we find the former president of the DISY, Yiannakis Matsis and national MPs Riccos Erotocritou and Prodomos Prodromou.

Movement of Ecologists and Environmentalists: on the Cypriot Greens list: containing Athos Agapitos and Marina Varnava-Martin.

New Horizons & Platform "European cooperation": this nationalist list regroups those opposed to European integration and the reunification of the island. It is headed by Nicos Koutsou. Political Sociology lecturer Panayiotis Ifestos is also on the list.

Laiko sosialistiko kinima: formed by socialists who left the EDEK, list is headed by Lakis Ioannou.

Platform "European Cyprus": the list headed by Androulla Vasiliou, the wife of former president George Vasiliou, is made up of pro-Europeans who support the Annan Plan. The former spokesperson for president Clerides, Christos Stylianides, is also on the list.

Seven independent candidates can be added to these lists, including a member of the Armenian community Arto Malian and university lecturer Turkish Cypriot, Mehmet Hasan.
