Brussels, 09/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - The spokesperson for European Commissioner for competition, Mario Monti, confirmed that the Commission was attempting to establish possible anti-competitive behaviour by US company INTEL (INTC), the world leader in semi-conductors. It is, however, to early to speak about an investigation, explained the spokesperson. In its introductory conclusions of two years ago, following a complaint made by the number two world leader Advanced Micro Device (AMD), the Commission established that the elements were sufficient for beginning an investigation. Following AMD's demands, another request for information has just been sent out to certain operators in the sector.
