09/06/2004 (Agence Europe) - On 10 June independent music producers will be presenting their position on the EU's Statement of Objections on the Sony/BMG merger. A press statement has indicated that the independents took part in the investigation by providing key information. Their position will be presented by Michele Lambot, co-president of PIAS Group/Vital and (president of Impala) and Paytovk Zelnik, president of Naïve (and vice president of Impala). The Impala organisation was created in April 2000 to assist the independents organise against the increasing number of mergers in the music sector dominated by the five "majors". The press statement indicated that Impala has more than 2000 members.
