France calls for 1% decrease in EU quotas

Brussels, 24/02/2004 (Agence Europe) - In order to clean up Europe's milk market, the French Agriculture Minister, Hervé Gaymard, proposed to his EU counterparts on Tuesday that quotas be reduced by 1% at Community level, which he believes will save the Community budget 350 million EUR (in intervention expenditure).
