18/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - Before leaving for Dublin where he will be meeting Bertie Ahern and the respective foreign affairs and European affairs ministers Brian Cowen and Dick Roche from the Taoiseach, the president of the European of Democracies and Differences at the European Parliament, Jens-Peter Bonde (Denmark) announced that, "I shall encourage the Irish presidency to work towards the holding of referenda on the EU constitution". He also declared in the press statement that, "the Member States will be given a new constitution which has primacy over the already existing national constitutions. You cannot five people a new constitution without asking them".
