The French group AREVA has acquired 50% of the capital of ETC-ENRICHMENT TECHNOLOGY COMPANY, a subsidiary of the European consortium URENCO. This acquisition will allow it to get its hands on a new uranium enriching technique using centrifugation. A new factory will be built in 2005 to exploit this new technique. The total cost of the investment will be 3 billion EUR.
