Infringement proceedings against Italy

Brussels, 06/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has opened infringement proceedings against Italy, on its plans to extend Malpensa airport. In a letter to the Italian authorities, the Commission expresses its objections to the project, known as the "third satellite" of Malpensa, which does not respect the European Directive on the assessment of environmental impact.
