06/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - Eurostat confirmed on Thursday that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of he Euro zone declined by 0.1% in the second quarter of 2003 compared to the previous quarter. This data demonstrates that Germany, Italy and the Netherlands have been in recession, with their economies contacting over two consecutive quarters. Belgium and France also registered a fall in their GDP.
