ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) mechanical engineering

Finnish constructor of escalators and lifts, KONE (turnover EUR 5.6 bn in 2002 with staff of 35,000) has sold its PARTEK FOREST forestry machine division to Japanese company KOMATSU for EUR 120 million. the sale does not involve forest cranes. Excluding this activity, PARTEK FOREST's turnover was EUR 240 million at the close of its final activities at the end of September.
